Kaati Zone

This review is also available on burrp!

For a quick bite in between some shopping, Kaati Zone offers some wallet-friendly kaati roll options. The rolls are certainly not a gourmet, melt-in-the mouth experience, but will do for that light, express lunch.

The rolls come in a unique packaging that allow for easy, non-messy eating and are customizable. Paratha options include the kaati original, the kaati lite or the kaati diet. The vegetarian filling options are aloo matter, methi paneer tikka (good), paneer jalfrazie and the mixed vegetable. The non-vegetarian filling options include the chicken tikka (good), tava chicken (reasonable non-spicy option), the egg and cheese, chicken hariyali and the mutton seekh. Extras that can be added are cheese, egg or egg white. Vada pav, chana chaat and corn cucumber chaat (good – cool and quite yummy) are also available.

Kaati Zone’s tagline is “Rolls that Rock” – and the Church Street outlet has guitars and a Connie Francis poster on the wall. The rest of the décor is very much chain-like – orange and blue sofas and chairs, red bar stools and lots of stainless steel, and the restaurant seems very popular with the college crowd. A very big plus is that it is super-clean – employees wear gloves, the mint chutney comes in covered easy-dispensing containers and the loos are sparkling.

The rolls range in price from Rs.25 to Rs.50. A meal for two is approximately Rs.200. Kaati Zone, which is a self-service restaurant, has outlets in Church Street, Koramangala and Malleswaram and delivers within a 3 km radius. It is open from 11 am to 10:30 pm.

Church Street: 13.A, Church Street, S & B Towers, Bangalore

Koramangala: No 124, KHB Colony, 5th Block, Koramangala, Bangalore

Malleswaram: above In & Out Store, BPCL Petrol Bunk, Malleswaram

  2. Aha, I remember eating their fish roll like a year ago.. but I did’nt find it on their menu recently.. maybe they changed the menu?

  3. blr bytes Says:

    That’d be a pity…

  4. Yup they don’t have fish rolls now. But they have some delicious veg, egg, chicken and mutton rolls. And soon you would be able to order online through them on hungrybangalore.com.

Hey, they have introduced some new meals in the form of Paratha Meals, the options are good – Aloo, Gobi & Meethi. I tried the Methi & loved it. And yes of course their Kaati Rolls are the best in Bangalore. I simply love their Chicken Tikka Kaati Roll – really mouthwatering treat.

Kaati Zone has several more restaurant outlets now. They are at Jayanagar, Banashankari, Indiranagar and the new Bengaluru International Airport. (You can search for “Kaati Zone, Bangalore” in maps.google.com to find the locations on a map.)

I visited Kaati Zone in Indiranagar, its unusual that a good joint like that gets written so little. Its a nice place they were playing some real good music – pop and rock – it was enjoyable. I would love to see more of a themed music – there are very few places apart from coffee joints that play good music. What I liked most of the place was that they serve lassi & nimbu pani – a welcome alternative to coke & pepsi. I met a manager of their he guided me although the ordering – explained everything on the menu – because of this effort I ended up ordering more as I wanted to try so many items as it was the first time, but when I actually sat to eat it – it was not too heavy. Wonderful people & a very different experience of finding a good Indian option of fast food in todays world crowded with international brands forcing us to be what we are not.

  8. I have tried out the new place in Jayanagar – and I agree – they are an excellent option for a quick, healthy Indian lunch. Looks like they are quite successful in straddling the best of Indian tastes with our fast-paced westernized life :-)!
